Meet Dixita!
Dr. Dixita Shetty is a Consultant Anaesthesiologist at Surya Hospital, Santacruz, Mumbai, with specialised training in paediatric anaesthesia through a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at SRCC Children’s Hospital. She completed her MBBS from Dr. Vikhe Patil Medical College and her M.D. in Anaesthesiology from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College & Sion Hospital, where her interest in medical ethics first took root.
Actively engaged in bioethics education, she has served as faculty for several workshops across Mumbai, including the TRINITY Ethicool Program. Her contributions have earned national recognition, including First Prize at the Ethos 4.0 International Bioethics Conference for presentation.
Her leadership journey began early, serving as Secretary of her medical college’s Student Council—an experience that strengthened her commitment to responsible governance and ethical clinical practice.
Her areas of interest include informed consent in paediatric and high-risk patients, perioperative ethical dilemmas, communication in complex cases, and integrating ethical frameworks into everyday anaesthesia care.
