Nitish Sharma, MBBS, MRCGP, is an NHS Family Medicine Consultant / General Practitioner at Bourne Health in London. Dr Sharma is the First5 Lead for the Royal College of General Practitioners (South London Faculty).
He completed his medical degree at Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences in Amritsar, India, before relocating to the UK, where he practised Internal Medicine within the London North West NHS Trust before getting into family medicine.
Dr Sharma completed his Family Medicine / General Practitioner training in South London, developing broad expertise across primary care, acute medicine, emergency medicine, paediatrics and community mental health.
He is experienced in minor surgical procedures, joint injections, and runs specialist diabetes clinics within primary care.
His clinical interests include preventive medicine, rehabilitation, and the safe, practical integration of clinical AI into frontline practice. With experience across two healthcare systems and both inpatient and outpatient settings, he brings a global, patient-centred approach to family medicine. Outside clinical work, he remains active in medical education, quality improvement, and healthcare innovation.
