Meet Tanishka M!
Tanishka M is a prefinal year MBBS student from Chennai, India, with a developing academic focus in internal medicine, cardiology, and clinical research. She is committed to strengthening her clinical foundation through active participation in hospital postings, case based discussions, and evidence based learning. She is deeply engaged in research and currently serves as a Principal Investigator under the Indian Medical Association’s Aaraichi programme. Alongside this, she works as an Undergraduate Researcher, contributing to parallel projects in nephrology, community medicine, forensic medicine, and biochemistry. Her work includes ongoing studies on contrast-associated nephropathy, mental health among medical students, and forensic analytical themes. She has co authored multiple abstracts submitted to national and international conferences, including IOSICON, AANS, and ASCO, and is a published co-author in three literary anthologies. Tanishka has further expanded her clinical and academic exposure through an observership in Internal Medicine, where she has gained insight into multidisciplinary teamwork, inpatient and outpatient care, and internal medicine practice within a tertiary care setting. She has been actively involved with ETHOS, taking on significant organisational and editorial responsibilities. For ETHOS 2025, she serves as the Head of Social Media & Technical Affairs and the Editor of the E-Souvenir, contributing to the digital, technical, and publication aspects of the 7th International Medical and Research Conference conducted by IJDA and the International Chair in Bioethics. She also holds leadership roles as an Executive Council Member of the Indian Medical Association (College Council) and Team Lead for the IMA’s Aaraichi research initiative. Her academic interests are complemented by international and national affiliations with organisations such as the European Society of Cardiology, American College of Cardiology, Royal College of Physicians, Global Association of Indian Medical Students, and the Indian Medical Association MSN. She has completed advanced courses and certifications from institutions including Duke University, Yale University, Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, the University of Zurich, the University of Copenhagen, and Novartis, focusing on clinical research methodology, diagnostic imaging, neuroscience, and good clinical practice. In addition to her academic pursuits, Tanishka values creativity and communication. She writes, edits, and designs actively, and is multilingual proficient in English, Hindi, and Tamil, with working knowledge of French.
