I’m working as a General Surgeon since 1985. I became a specialist Gastroenterologist in 1998, and in Health Adminstration in 2008. I was elected President of the Medical Association of Minas Gerais for two terms (2011/14 and 2014/17). Vice President of the Brazilian Medical Association (2014/17) as well as President of the Brazilian Medical Association (AMB) for the term 2017-2020. I was also President of the Iberolatinoamerican and Caribbean Federation of Medical Associations (Comfemel) term 2019-2021. Member of the Council of the World Medical Association (WMA) from March 2019 to January 2021.
